Tips, Tricks, & Advice on how to Organize Your Space

The Before and After Chronicles: Art & Guest Room

Recently I helped a client clear out her guest-slash-art room.

Over the years, it had become an extra storage space, a place to 'dump' things when there was nowhere else to put them. Most of us are guilty of that in one form or another, be it a junk drawer, jam-packed closet, or an unusable extra room. The clutter was getting out of control, taking over this well-lit room, and detering my client from being able to have guests as well as stifling her creative spark.

This was a job for the Organizer Gal!

Here are a few before and afters. As you can see, the room is cheery despite the incroaching clutter. It just needed a bit of sorting and organizing to make it once again serve it's intended purpose.

Guest and art room. No place to sleep or get creative.

PIles, piles everywhere.

Everything neatly stored away, easily accesible for maximum creativity and utilization of space.

A pleasant place for a guest to sleep or relax.

Using existing shelving and a wardrobe as well as some purchased racks and bins, I created a separate, easily accesible area to store art supplies, linens and other household items that could be 'closed' off with richly colored draperies.

This opened up the room amd floor space, allowing a guest area and an art studio. Once again, order is restored and another space is sorted and usable.

My work here is done.

How can I help you declutter, clear out and organize your home, garage, office or storage space?
